The nasty rumour about Obama been a muslim

I can't believe it, I've just heard from a friend who read a report in the weekend papers about a survey held in the united states that has statistics showing that nearly 24% of Americans believe that Obama is a Muslim.

Has anyone else heard about this report and does anyone believe it? I find it hard to take. I don't think the average American is stupid to that point.
